Odia Diaspora in UAE & Oman Welcomes Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy
The Odia community in the UAE and Oman had the honor of hosting Gurujee Chandra Bhanu Satpathy as the keynote speaker at a dedicated event arranged by the Odisha Samaj of UAE. The evening commenced with a delightful performance of the Odisha anthem "Bande Utkal Janani" sung by Antara Chakraborty, establishing a cultural ambiance for the gathering.
Amiya Mishra (President) and Bishwajit Mallik (Vice President) of the Odisha Samaj of UAE, along with other members, recognized Gurujee Dr. Satpathy for his remarkable contributions to the Odia community.
In his speech, Dr. Satpathy underscored the significance of cultural unity within the Odia diaspora, urging the community to remain connected while cherishing their rich cultural heritage. He also pointed out the essential difference between sympathy and empathy, advocating for the practice of empathy in all interactions.
Dr. Satpathy further highlighted the crucial position of parents in society, mentioning the renowned "Pita Mata" stavak from his major work "Shree Guru Bhagwat," which guides and nurtures succeeding generations. He expressed pride in Odia "ashmita" (identity), encouraging the community to embrace and celebrate their unique cultural identity wherever they are located.
The event served as a poignant reminder of the strength and solidarity of the Odia diaspora, along with the importance of nurturing empathy and cultural pride in the contemporary world.
