Release of Commemorative Postage Stamp
On Centenary of Mahasamadhi of Shirdi Sai Baba
DECEMBER 15 2017: To commemorate the centenary of the ‘Mahasamadhi’ of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba, the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, issued a postage stamp which was released by the Chief Guest, Sh Manoj Sinha, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Communications on 15th December, 2017 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, in the august presence of Dr Chandra Bhanu Satpathy.
Under the inspiration and guidance of Dr. Satpathy, Shirdi Sai Global Foundation organized the grand event. Addressing the huge audience, Dr. Satpathy emphasized on the life and messages of love and humanity of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba. He commended the efforts put in by the organizations dedicated to the cause of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba in India and all over the world.
In his address, Sh Manoj Sinha said that the real identity of India is its spiritual excellence and that Shri Shirdi Sai Baba was an epitome of spirituality. He said, it is a great moment for his department to release the postage stamp in the centenary year of Shirdi Sai Baba.
The dignitaries included Sh Arun Kumar, ADG, BSF, Sh A N Nanda, Secretary Posts, Sh L N Sharma, CPMG of Delhi and Sh Rajeev Joshi, Additional Secretary, UPSC. Trustees and devotees of various Shirdi Sai Baba related trusts and also devotees from India and abroad were present.
