Release Ceremony of Audio CD "Borgeet" and Dr. C.B. Satpathy's Keynote Address at the Event

SHIRDI SAI GLOBAL FOUNDATION, THURSDAY, JANUARY 19, 2016: A function to release CDs of a rare collection of 'Borgeets' recorded by All India Radio since 1957, was organized by Prasar Bharati and All India Radio on 19th January 2017 at International Auditorium of Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati. These Borgeets were composed by Mahapurush Shrimanta Sankardeva and Shri Madhavdeva in 15th - 16th century. Dr. Chandrabhanu Satpathy graced the function as Chief Speaker. Shri Sarbanand Sonowal, Hon Chief Minister of Assam, was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Sh. S. C. Panda CEO Prasar Bharti was the guest of honor. Senior officers from the state and central government were present at in the function. 

 

Speaking on occasion Dr. Satpathy, emphasized the importance of 'Samaj ( समाज), Sabhyata (सभ्यता), Sanskriti (संस्कृति), Sahitya (साहित्य), Samhati ( सम्हति)  for humanity. He spoke on the role played by Shrimanta Sankardeva and Shri Madhavdeva in Assam, not only as religious reformers but also encompassing the social, cultural and other aspects. Dr. Satpathy advised the state government to encourage usage of technology, the opening of Chairs in universities and presentation of teaching and philosophy of Shri Sankardeva and Shri Madhavdeva in simplified form to make it appealing to the young generation. 

 

In his address, the Chief Guest, Hon Chief Minister of Assam, graciously accepted the suggestions put forward by Dr. Satpathy. He further informed that steps he has taken steps to have Namghars ( नामघर) at two places outside Assam, which was lauded by the audience. As part of the function, the cultural performance, which included Xatriya nritya, enthralled the audience.
